Meet Katrina. Katrina is 18 years of age and has been in foster care for three years. She has recently participated in the Project LIFE May 2018 Youth Statewide Conference and was recognized for many certificates including the June Youth Spotlight recognition award. Katrina has impacted so many individuals and achieved so much over the past year. Recently, she has graduated high school, earned a license in cosmetology and moved into her first apartment. She plans on enrolling into community college and later transfer to a four-year university to get a degree in counseling.
In Katrina’s down time, she enjoys spending time with her friends, reading and shopping. She also enjoys participating in the Youth Statewide Conference. She has worked with Project LIFE for over a year. Her favorite part about being involved with Project LIFE is, “getting to know so many different people”. In one word, she describes Project LIFE as “helpful”.
To those in foster care Katrina wanted to share with you all that, “keep looking forward, because no matter how slow or long life is at the moment, it doesn’t stop, it keeps moving on.” Project LIFE is so proud of the milestones you have accomplished! Keep working towards your goals and inspiring those surrounding you, Katrina!
