I have been a native of Southwest Virginia since 1991 and am pleased to be continuing my work with youth in the region. I will strive to be a supporting influence in your transition to adulthood and independence. In addition, I am dedicated to advocating for the empowerment of foster care youth and developing lifelong connections. IL Committee Meetings
On May 9, Renee Garnett, VDSS Education Specialist, Permanency Unit, will be joining our Abingdon ILC to talk to the group about her specialty and how it relates to our older youth. Due to Renee's travel from Richmond, I only asked her to present at the Abingdon meeting. Hence, I will be cancelling the Wytheville ILC Meeting and combining both on the 9th. Not only is this an excellent opportunity to hear firsthand information from a state level representative, I also believe it will be a good opportunity for members of the Wytheville ILC to become more familiar with their Abingdon counterparts. Please mark this date on your calendars and make your best efforts to attend!
