Project LIFE and Voices Partner in Youth Advocacy Effort
Voices for Virginia’s Children and Project LIFE collaborated in April to host a focus group to engage youth in the creation of a Foster Care Bill of Rights for the state of Virginia. Voices began working on this initiative over the last few months through their Foster Care Policy Network. A youth focus group was created to provide a space where youth can openly share their thoughts and experiences in a peer-supported environment. Youth were encouraged to give input on items they would like to see represented in the Bill of Rights. Youth and young adults gave input on topics ranging from normalcy to engagement in planning for their future.
