Episode 10 of FXBG Mission Podcast

FXBG Mission is a podcast that unites the community while raising awareness for mental health and wellness in Fredericksburg, Virginia. The vision of the podcast is to prevent the stigma and help people know that they are not alone. UMFS employee Angela Rivers creates and hosts this podcast. Episode 10 highlights the great work of Project LIFE, its relation to mental health, and their great work in Virginia. Special thank you to George Mack for being this episode’s unwavering guest.

As Angela interviews George, he shares about Project LIFE. “LIFE is an acronym. It stands for Living Independently, Focusing on Empowerment. The Project LIFE Program is a partnership with United Methodist Family Services (UMFS) and the Virginia Department of Social Services (VDSS) where we support older youth in foster care and their families, and those surrounding supports around them as they transition into youth adulthood, so they can be a little bit more self sufficient as they as they get older.” Watch the full video below below for more Q&A and discussion about the program.
